Privacy Policy

The data controller (responsable del tratamiento) is Jorge Maya, who operates the Micava product in Colombia.

All privacy requests, questions and complaints (consultas y reclamos) are handled through support@winequest.ai, which is our contact channel for this policy.

This policy is effective as of August 25, 2026.

• Account and identity data (name, email address, profile picture from your sign-in provider) — to create, authenticate and secure your account.
• Your wine collection content (cellars, wines, bottles, storage locations, photos, ratings, notes and tastings) — to provide the core features of the app and share cellars with the people you invite.
• Support messages you send us — to answer your requests.
• Technical, usage and security data (device and browser information, IP address, logs, error reports) — to operate, troubleshoot, secure and improve the service, and to prevent abuse.
• Subscription status (Paddle customer and subscription identifiers, plan, renewal dates) — to give you access to the features you paid for.

We never receive or store your card details. Payment data is handled by Paddle, our Merchant of Record.

We do not sell your personal information.

• Performance of a contract — providing the app, your account and your subscription.
• Legitimate interests — security, abuse prevention, troubleshooting and product improvement.
• Consent (or your authorization under Colombian law) — where required, for example for optional communications.
• Legal obligation — tax, accounting and responding to lawful requests.

Micava uses Google Sign-In to authenticate users. We receive only the profile information you choose to share, typically your name, email address and profile picture.

We use it solely to create and secure your Micava account. We do not access your Gmail, Google Drive, contacts or any other Google service, and we do not sell or share this data with third parties for their own purposes.

• Hosting, database and storage providers that run the app infrastructure.
• AI and wine-data providers, when a feature requires it — for example a label photo processed to recognize a wine.
• Paddle.com as our Merchant of Record, for the sale, subscription management, payments, tax compliance and invoicing.
• Professional advisers (legal, accounting) where necessary.
• Authorities, when required by law or to protect rights and safety.

These providers act under their own privacy and data-processing terms.

Micava relies on providers located outside Colombia, including in the United States and Europe. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we rely on the safeguards offered by those providers, such as contractual data-protection commitments.

We keep your information while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards, then delete or anonymise it. Some data may persist temporarily in backups or be retained where required for legal, tax or security reasons.

You may ask to know, access, update, rectify or delete your personal information, revoke your authorization, object to certain processing, or receive a copy of the data you provided.

To exercise any of these rights, write to support@winequest.ai from the email address associated with your account, describing your request. We will respond within the periods required by applicable law. If you are in Colombia and are not satisfied with our response, you may file a complaint with the Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio (SIC); if you are in the EEA or the UK, you may complain to your local supervisory authority.

Deletion may be subject to reasonable technical, backup, security or legal retention requirements.

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, access controls and row-level database rules that keep each cellar visible only to its members. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

Micava uses only essential cookies and browser storage: your sign-in session and a local cache of wine images to make the app faster and reduce data usage. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

We may update this Privacy Policy as Micava and the services it relies on evolve. The latest version is always available here, and significant changes will be communicated through the app.
